He had heard responses like this before and he wasn't upset about it. "Do I? Well then, perhaps you could explain to me as you would this friend, why is it such a foolish goal?" He was curious of her answer, for she didn't seem to think like everyone else at the palace.

Holo looked back at him at that catching her ball "......Speak to you, like I would... to him" she muttered softly seemingly mulling it over as she rolled the ball between her hands before taking a deep breath "Alright...." turning to face the young man now a bit determined "....greed. Humans can be greedy without even realizing it, being brought here.... is symbol of that enough. There used to be hundreds of native people living here and now... its like our cultures, our traditions are getting mixed. Even the leader of the capital was not born here, and his mother before him and you. Yet you are all within the seats of power and control.... do you not know how crushing that feels to us? to people who have loved, died and breathed this land since they were born here? It started with the burning of the gardens in Eagles point.... even.... even though it was mostly.... animals.... wolves.... that died.... they still... had... families" seeming to get a bit teary at that last part "they didnt deserve to die"

This was not the answer had expected from her. He looked down at the ground and couldn't look at her. She was right. He had immediately tried to do his best to climb the ladder to make the land safe but he hadn't realized that he might not be doing what was really the right thing. "I guess you're right. I wasn't born here but I've been trying to gain power to help keep this world safe not realizing what the people who were born here might think."

"..... well it is good to see someone willing to listen" she said softly approaching him before moving to tilt his head up softly as she looked to him ".... its okay, im sure you meant well" she sighed before drawing back before offering her ball "come play with me in the garden it will make you feel better to relax"

He smiled at the girl and nodded. "I haven't played in such a long time, you may have to teach me how." He chuckled at his comment and taking the ball in his hands. "What game did you have in mind."

When he took the ball Holo grinned and moved to lean in, kiss him on the cheek to surprise him and steal the ball away before dashing off "Keep away seems like an idea to me!" laughing as she ran off down the courtyard.

He was looking at the ball fondly but when he looked up he was surprised to see Holo leaning in toward him. The kiss sent a shudder of memories through him, but he quickly recovered. He smiled at her and bounded after her with great speed. "You might want to know that I was the fastest member in my clan."

Holo was quite fast too bonding around without a care it seemed more like the natural hampering movement of her dress was what slowed her down more then anything else. Making her while harder to catch then one would expect for a lady still hampered and soon the two of them were fooling around as she laughed with him "I can believe that!"

She was fast and Suzaku started really getting into the chase. Once he was close enough ereached for the ball laughing all the way. "Your much faster then I would have thought Holo. You're actually giving me a challenge."

she quickly tried to pull it back but the sudden movement caught her heel on her skirt as suddenly the young lady fell back letting out.... a dog yelp? as she fell. Losing the ball from her grasp as she landed on her butt. Blinking as she pouted "Stupid skirts!" before blinking at the pile of ruffles just letting out a few laughs seeming to be alright and enjoying herself.

Suzku picked up the ball and chuckled while offering a hand. "You alright there Holo? That was a nasty spill you had there." He knelt down with his hand out, smiling at her laughter.

"Im fine~" she said softly blushing a bit with embarrassment as he offered her his hand, but she didn't take it for a moment making sure strangely that her hat was on properly and her skirts were all fixed up before taking it. Standing now beside him as she held his hand "Thank you.... oh-!" quickly removing her hand from him "im--im sorry people around here tend to talk, I do not want you in trouble"

He gave her a puzzled look and was about to ask her why she seemed to hate her fancy clothes but pay so much attention to them, but she cut him off before he could ask. Again confused he cocked his head and looked at her. "What is there to talk about? I'm just a guard and you're a lady of the palace. What could they possibly say." Suzaku knew these rules well since his old life was destroyed by them

Holo looked at him then bit her lip blushing with embarrassment as she turned her face away putting her hands behind her back "... there.... the others around here.... they.... they call my the King's Consort, the less polite ones his concubine" feeling entirely embarrassed having to say it aloud considering Holo herself was a still a virgin but no one thought that anymore.

Suzaku had a shocked look on his face as she told him how she was talked about. "That's terrible. People who dare to say such things about a lady of the court should be dealt with for slander." Suzaku backed off a bit after seeing his own reaction. He was taking to personally. He let out a sigh and looked back at her calmly. "My apologies Holo. Where I'm from, no one would ever think that of a female. Females are highly esteemed where I'm from."
