Red stood on the peak, looking down at the city below her, where the guard who had found her had told her it would be. She sighed slightly and looked at the path going down from the peak to the town, glad she’d ditched the high-heels and accepted the cloak from the guard. It had taken two days to find her way this far, and the dusty, reddish, ragged cloak was good protection from the elements when all you wore was a frilled cocktail dress and high heels. Her hair had taken some knocks during the journey, and her up-do was ragged, the red wavy pieces falling around her face and neckline. She looked down at the hand holding the cloak in minor surprise, mainly for the fact that the red nail polish was still intact. “Well den,” she mused softly, “S’pose der’s nuthin ta do but get down, now is there? Mebbe dey can tell me where I am….” Because last she remembered, she’d been preparing to go onstage, and now she was….here…

Gambit was laying in the channels on his new homeland, listening to the gossip about a human on Eagle Point's grounds. His ears flicked back and forth, picking up juicy information. His haunches rose as he got to his paws, normally in his lion form since he changed alliances. He walked the path up to manna peak, where he had heard the girl was, or where some of the eagle creatures had spotted her. "An den dare was two." Gambit commented loudly as he jumped the last rocky step to the top of the mountain. He only saw her from the back, but he was sure he wouldn't like her all that much. Human women were always trouble he had decided, although it was a philosophy he often disowned.

((lol, quick note; this Red has no magic in her world, Wolfie was a normal human XD she’s going to flip-at least, on the inside psh, lol XD))
Red was just about ready to head down when she heard the voice and turned, expecting another human. Whatever response died on her lips when she saw it was a lion. A very large, very bored looking lion. Getting over her initial moment of panic her mind assessed the situation. If he’d wanted to eat or attack her, it would have happened. Still, she shifted into a more defensive pose and tilted her head curiously. “Neva met a talkin lion befo, sug. Neva met one wi’ a Cajun accent neitha. You got a name, or do I have teh resort ta callin ya kitty?” she gave him a playful smile, though inside she was still reeling slightly at the fact that she was having a conversation with a lion. A lion.

Gambit raised an eyebrow, of all the things people were afraid of, his eyes, his kinetic energy blasts, it was odd she found the lion part strange. Easy fix, he decided. "Well, I would change back, but it would be unpleasant without clothes. I've got a human form if you would be more comfortable." His accent was small for a moment as he tried to look less menacing. He set down and stared at her, "I take it you from a world where de' lions don' talk. Well here, lotsa' weird tings' happen. De' name's Remy, or Gambit if you prefer."

She promptly offered the red cloak and gave him a slight smile. “We can match. Though why ya worried about modesty, I'd tink it'd be normal...but what do I know of normal here? It’s too odd fo me ta be talkin ta a lion. Or seein one outside o a zoo, sorry” Red shrugged a little helplessly. “Why ya talkin like that? I can tell yeh got a Cajun accent. I like it, something from where I’m from” She looked around at that, taking in the landscape again for the umpteenth time. “Yeh know where we are? One minute ‘m preparing ta sing, th’ next ‘m in th’ middle of a desert wi’ a weird woman wi’ black hair starin at me….” Red looked back at Gambit and eyed him appraisingly. “Yeh don’ seem like a game ta me so Remy it is”

Gambit put his ears back, accepting the cloak and throwing it over his back. "You'll see." He assured her, waiting until she was finished speaking and looking at the surroundings to change. His fur receded into skin and his muzzle turned into a mouth. He slowly transformed, taking on the shape of a man, a man trained to sneak through shadows, fight, and lead men. He lifted himself up as he was lying down, then wrapped his lower half in the cloak. "It's known as the lost city and yeah, dat' happens to everyone."

She smiled slightly as he shifted, freaking out slightly that it was happening at all, but over all more at ease with a naked man than a talking lion. Hellbent, her partner in taking down crime in her world, was always stripping for no apparent reason when not in his hero persona-and that was mainly because she could tell when he’d get the urge to start taking his clothes off and could stop him when he started. Every other time she was stuck paying bail or convincing the cops not to arrest him for lude conduct.
The red-head put a hand on her chin and looked at the now human Remy. “Yeh’re good lookin, that’s fo sure. Not a piece o art, but th’ rugged, cowboy type” she gasped slightly when she saw his eyes and walked over, touching his cheek as she stared into them. “Oh, honey…like starin inta scarlet flames….” She didn’t ask what she wanted to. ‘what happened to you?’ stayed unspoken in her mouth. If he could magically turn into a lion, why question oddly colored eyes? Red grinned and shook her head ruefully. “Really? An here I tought I was special. Who’s she anyway? Ratha creepy….”

Gambit remained still, grinning as she complimented him. "My brotha' is de' cowboy type, I'm mora' de' bad boy an' I tink' I'm a very pricey piece ah' art." He crossed his arms, watching her with more of a judgmental stare. His hands slipped and he rested his arms down when she complimented his eyes. "Day' like de' anglerfish's light, Chere', don' pay too much attention to dem'." He warned her, blinking and looking away. "Destino? She's a fire bird, so yeah, sometimes she is a bit creepy."

Red shook her head. “Not a bad boy, but I s’ppose yeh’re more of a wild child than a cowboy” in her mind, if he was a bad boy, he would have attacked her, or been crueler. Instead, he’d answered her questions, had the decency to want clothes when he shifted…no, not a bad boy at all. Red laughed at the ‘pricey piece of art’ comment. “Yeh’re certainly a pretty boy, very pretty, but I still won’t call ya art. Art is cold an still, an impossible to love. Yeh’re warm,” her hand went down to his chest and she smiled. “Yeh got a heartbeat, yeh’re not art, but yeh’re a good substitute” Red ignored the stare, she was used to men staring at her, but the judgmental type was a little new, admittedly. When he looked away she moved around to look him in the eyes. “hey, hey, look at me darlin. Yeh’re not th scariest thing I’ve eva seen. Trust me, yeh’re not” red on black eyes she could handle. Lions becoming men she could handle. Red blinked at the revelation of what her savior in the desert was and gaped for a moment. “A….Firebird?” that was…a little more than she could take at that exact moment in time and she sank down and put her head in her hands for a few minutes.

Gambit was fascinated by her definitions, they didn't quite match his, but he guessed if she found him lovable it was a bonus. He didn't care too much though, long term relationships were passed him, for the most part. Renamon was the only women he had ever really wanted, everyone else just seemed too easy to him, or too normal. He looked down when she touched his chest, his eyes slowly moving back to look into her facial expressions, wondering what she thought of it. He looked into her eyes unafraid now, raising an eyebrow when she backed and sank down. He relaxed and closed his eyes. "It ain't de' weirdest, an' nobody knows much about her. She just saves people, nobody knows why." He explained a bit more.

Red shook her head, still cradling it in her hands. “Dis don’ begin ta count as odd or weird. Dis way past dat. Magic don’t exist where I come from, especially not shapeshifting creatures or talking animals or mythical things that randomly take yeh out of desert and inta weird ruins. I ain’t complainin, anythin’s better n’ death, but….” She sighed and rubbed her forehead, hating the way she sounded. She was a superhero, dammit, she stood down kidnappings and murder attempts and drug cartels and all sorts of things. She didn’t sit around and whine about how bad her life was, that wasn’t her.
Wait, that was interesting. Destino knew where everyone would be spit out at, appeared, and then took them to those ruins? Something smelled funny there and Red stood up and brushed her dress off, thinking. Maybe she could figure out what exactly Destino’s game was and what she was doing. That would be something she could focus on until she could go home. “Thank yeh for yeh’re help an all, Remy. Um…there anything I need ta know about what this world is, who rules it, an all that? Probably important….”

Gambit watched her rise, he understood what she was talking about. In his world, shifters were the only creatures he had ever really known, but coming to this city with his father changed everything. He looked down when she asked her question, slowly turning back into his lion from. His haunches rose quickly and the coat slipped from his waste as his tail flicked it away. "This is Eagle point, most of us have animal forms here, or we were caste different by our looks. That city in the distance is The Capital, we are at war right now. Their leader is my brother, Lyle." He looked back at her, a certain boredom in his eyes, neither pain nor anger. "Our leader is Somai, he took over after-" He put his ears back and looked away from her. "After the last alpha left." He finished.

Red looked down at herself, then at the lion-man before her and raised an eyebrow. "I'm gonna stick out like a sore thumb, ain't I?" oh, fighting! fighting she could get behind, sides good and evil, she understood this. "If yeh're brotha's the leada over there, why aren't you the leada over here?" and why was he fighting his own brother? Red's eyes softened when he turned away and she put a hand on his head gently. "You were close den? to dis otha leada?" She was going to have to talk to whoever this Somei was, see if she could get anymore information from him. "What's dis Somei like?"

Gambit's ears flicked back, hoping to move her hand, but instead he had to shrug his shoulders away from her touch. "Yeah, what of it? Don' matter no mo', not like I want em' to die or nuten', but he made his choice and I made mine. I ain't belong with de' humans anyway." He started his descent down the cliff, "Jus' stick with me, Chere', you be alright, I'll keep ya safe here."

“Family’s important, suga. An sounds like you carried a flame fo dis leada dat’s no mo” she shrugged and followed, biting the inside of her cheek to keep from chuckling and offending him. Lions, giant birds, and whatever else there was, she was sure she could take care of herself, but whatever. “Oh, such a gentleman” she simply said, and folded her arms, looking at the sky. “So, ya neva said. Who an what is dis Somei? ‘m gonna meet him, but I want ta know if I need ta be prepared fo anything” like a four headed Cerberus or a zombie or something. Yea, this was important information.
