Red gave him a long hard stare but didn’t press him. A lovesick lion, lovely. Instead she hummed a few strains of ‘I won’t say I’m in love’ just for her own amusement before her eyebrows went up at the description of the leader and the attempt to get her to join his brother’s side. “I won’t go where you don’t, suga. You just promised ta protect me, an yer the only one here actually talkin ta me. ‘Sides, I don’ mind small communities, or workin. ‘M good at that, used ta be a farm girl” Had actually considered taking Cory back to the farm before…before Cory was gone. Red took a deep breath and forced those thoughts out of her head before looking at the distant city. “I was sent ta dis place for a reason. I’ll make dis place my home, tired of cities anyway”

Gambit nodded slowly, he didn't much like her humming. The wounds of his love's disaperance still burned, and the last thing they did was fight so it was never a question of getting over her, it was a question of how could he live without her? He would always love her. He continued on the way down, "Well you're welcome to stay, just as long as you not talk about the past with me too much, I dislike those topics severely, and my lion side might seem harmless now, but I've got a temper." He warned. He was being truthful, having an animal inside of him was hard to control.

“Oh, good. Yeh don’ wannae talk about yer past eitha? Was worried you’d ask me about mine. You not ask, neitha will I” she said with some semblance of cheer, though it was warped with a dark undertone. Knowing what happened made people pity her, or hate her, or just avoid her. Because crazy totally spreads, or bad luck. Or something. And talking about her twisted love life, her son, her partner and friend and being a superhero…maybe it was pointless to keep it a secret in this world but better safe than sorry. There might be a Wolfie here. “Only ting ya need ta know is I used ta be a singa. Jus’ tell me ta shut up if I start singin wi’out realizing it. It happens sometimes”

He didn't speak, even when told she was a singer, he was keeping careful eyes on the ground he tread upon. He put his ears back to better hear her, then he put them forward. "Just stay close.." He murmured, walking down into the inner channels of the mountain. Everyone seemed to give her a strange look. Some must have assumed she was a shifter because they simply continued as if she didn't exist, while others stared then continued on their way. Gambit walked passed them, his ears back again.

Red rolled her eyes and followed. He was worse than the ‘I prefer silence’ or the ‘I work alone’ heroes she’d encountered in her own world. What sort of hell had he gone through to make him like this? Taking in the silence she took the time to look around at the people that made up this town. She tried not to stare at all the creatures that only existed in stories in her world and blinked when they stared back at her, like she was the oddity, and maybe she was. Red stayed very close to Remy as they walked. Partly for some measure of security and partly because he knew where they were going and the last thing she wanted was to be left behind.

Gambit continued past the odd creatures, although they were like friends to him. He stopped when they came to a guarded door. "Somai should be in the leader channel, you can enter when you feel. I must depart to train, but feel free to find me when you're done." And with that, he flicked his tail and raised his haunches to run off down the stone halls, leaving her by the entrance to the leader channel.

Red blinked, feeling more and more like she'd fallen into a videogame, especially with the parting speech of Gambit, and turned to look at the entrance, almost surprised there was no pop up box saying "go into the tunnel and meet Somei? yes/no" sighing and shaking her head at the strange thoughts-too long without food, probably, Red braced herself and walked through the channel.
