Gambit understood basic styles of fighting, and among them were slow moves repeated in different sequences, much like a dance. He performed these moves slowly, then sighed and reached down to take a drink of the river. He remembered he was in his human form so transformed into a lion. His mane was a dark brown color, while his fur looked more like dirty sand. He licked at the liquid until he had his fill, his ears back and ready to pick up the slightest sound.

Tigress had been wandering around and had decided to head to the river to go for a swim. She stopped as she saw someone already there. It seemed to be a lion. Tigress sighed and decided it was time to start being social. "Good morning to you." Tigress tried her best to look cheerful.

Gambit's ears rose as he heard a nose. He licked his lips and turned, giving her a grin. "An' what a good mornin' it is now dat' I don' seen you. It's Tigress, right? I thought bout' fighting you for captain, buh' then why would I waste two beautiful faces for one meaningless title?" He turned his head back around and begun lapping up some more water.

Tigress raised an eyebrow at him. "Yeah its a real shame isn't it." She bit her lip after her comment. That was the thing Jake had told her to work on, people skills.

Gambit raised one ear to hear her comeback, unsatisfied that her appearance and personality didn't seem to match. He guessed he was only kidding himself, not every beautiful women with fur could really bite back at him as much as Catherine had done. He put both ears back and licked his lips, a pained expression crossing his face. "Did you come here to drink?" He wondered.

She took a deep breath and put a smile on her face and tried to relax. "Well actually I heard this was a good place to swim. I haven't gone swimming for quite some time. How bout you? Why were you here?"

Gambit stopped drinking and lifted his head up, looking across the bare river. "Oh, well it's kind of the only place to swim." He smiled, implying she couldn't really swim in the sand. He walked over to her and shrugged, "I just liked the scenery, and I wanted to train somewhere beautiful."

"Train?" This was a word she was familiar with. "What kind of training did you have in mind?" rattlesnake Jake had taught her many things, one such thing was that you can always learn something new.

Gambit shrugged his shoulders, "Well, I was going to transform, but now there's a crowd." He teased, shaking his mane and walking over to his clothes. He was partially blocked by a large papyrus plant, changing into his human form. The process was slow, but he seemed to dress quite quickly, coming out as he put his shirt over his stomach. "I actually just do some target practice most of the time." He explained, buckling his card pocket to his jeans.

Tigress listened to him and then when she saw him change she instantly went on her guard. "What are you doing here human! You realize the fatal mistake you made by coming here?" Tigress clenched her fist and waited for him to make a move.

Gambit raised an eyebrow, "Umm, first of all I'm a shifter. Second of all, I was here long before you." He crossed his arms over his chest and walked toward her. "If I put on a different mask, does it change who I am inside? You people always see so narrowly."

She didn't trust him but she figured she'd give him the benefit of the doubt and lowered her arms and folded them across her chest. "Time I'd irrelevant. So why are you here and not with the humans in their cities?" Despite her distrust she remained heavily curious of the man standing before her.

Gambit rolled his eyes, this women didn't seem to get the picture. "I'm part lion and part human, sweetheart, so I am able to go where I please." He shook his head. He didn't think it mattered what race or species he was. He could go wherever he pleased.

She shook her head at him. "When war is raging going where you please becomes less available. I'm sorry for snapping at you. Jake always tells me to keep a cool head but I've never listened." She walked over to him and offered him her hand. "I don't trust you but I'll at least stop being hostile."
