Lyle paced back and forth, it had been a month since time was last slow. So much had happened, a new crystal supplied them with gifts again, Temperance had gone missing, and Lyle seemed to be the central dictator of The Capital.
Chainey and the elite were lined up, as they had been summoned by Lyle. The room was crowded with guards, some from the elite, others were simply palace guards. "Chainey, you've been accused of starting a war." Lyle spoke slowly and loudly so all could hear. Chainey stood in front of all the guards, her arms not bound, but her hands behind her back as she stared ahead with a blank expression.
Kai, an elite guard with short orange hair, stepped forward. "That's absurd! She was with us!-" He was silenced when Chainey held up a hand. He bowed and moved back in line. Chainey narrowed her eyes in Lyle's direction. "And you know this without a doubt then?" She questioned.
Lyle stopped his pacing in front of her and closed his eyes. "You are stripped of your rank and will no longer be allowed to associate with any guards, less you cause more damage than you've already." He spoke, ignoring her question. Kai hesitated, but Chainey turned to him. She bowed to Lyle and backed away to Kai. She put a hand on his shoulder and looked around, as if trying to see the colors of the elite. "Everything happens for a reason. Be strong Kai, carry on." She took his hand in hers and gripped it, then she let go and walked over to Phoebus. She took his hand and placed a piece of paper in it. She then looked to the other members and narrowed her eyes in sympathy. "Good bye." She put simply, then walked passed them, two of the palace guards taking her by the arms and leading her away. Kai's chest pounded with anger, but he stayed silent.
Lyle nodded, "The elite will no longer be separate from the other guards. You will report to me or my personal guards of the palace, understood? And any guard seen speaking with an ex captain will lose their position. Dismissed. "
After everyone had left, rather they wanted to or not, Lyle leaned against the window of the council room. "Your move." He spoke to the wind.
