Suzaku walked down the hall till he reached the door to Lyle's chamber. Lyle had summoned him for some specific orders that were to be kept quiet. He wondered how this new line of government would be. Since war had started nothing was clear anymore and now another threat was here not to mention his shifting ability was now back. He rubbed his head to clear the thoughts from his head and then knocked on the door.

Lyle opened the door quickly and motioned for the man to enter. "I've seen you around with a man of the elite. I like to get straight to the point." He confessed, walking over to his window and looking out over the dessert. "The elite have a special connection to your ex captain. A connection that could destroy our kingdom. Let me ask you something, are you well at staying hidden? Being in character? Lying?" He questioned, placing his hands behind his back and grinning.

He stepped into the room and shut the door behind him. He listened as Lyle talked and could tell that something was going on. He thought for a moment on his past and his experiences and then nodded his head and stood in his military stance. "Yes sir, I have had to play such parts in my past sir."

Lyle nodded lightly, moving over to sit upon his bed. "Good, I want you to spy on everyone who was in the elite." He ordered, his voice quite casual, but a bit sympathetic for some reason. Lyle put his head down and rubbed his forehead. "Can you do this for me?"

Suzaku nodded again. He didn't like this mission he was being given but he followed orders no matter what. "Yea sir, I can do that. May I ask why sir? The elite guard are loyal to the capital are they not sir?" Suzaku wasn't good with politics but he could tell when things were going wrong and he wanted to say more but held his tongue.

Lyle looked up and pondered the question over before answering. "Yes, but loyalties can conflict with the heart's choices. The elite were close to their leader, more than they should have been. I fear they are not ready to walk without her." He explained.

Suzaku nodded. He hadn't even sorted out his loyalties completely. He couldn't imagine what the elite must be going through. He let out a sigh and then stiffened himself. His loyalties were to the capital and he kept reassuring himself that it was the right thing to do. "I see sir. I shall not fail you sir."

Lyle nodded a bit to show he understood the silence. The man then rose to his feet and walked to the door. He opened it for the soldier, "Good, then I expect a report soon. Perhaps, if you complete this mission well, I will see you in the higher ranks." He explained, then nodded in a farewell.

Suzaku nodded and then saluted Lyle. "Yes sir, I shall report back the moment i receive any valuable information." Suzaku walked out of the room and thought about what he had just been asked to do.
